On January 13th, an exhibition I’m curating at the Ansin Family Art Gallery at the Miramar Cultural Center opens. It’s entitled “What’s Going On: Marvin Gaye’s America”, it coincides with a performance by Marvin Gaye tribute artist Brian Owens. The exhibit is a pictorial chronology of the turbulent years in American society leading up to the release of Gaye’s “What’s Going On” album in 1972. It also includes pieces and design elements created by Danny Agnew of the Roots Collective.

If you can’t attend the opening reception and show, the exhibit is free and will be on display through the end of February. There are programs that will go along with the exhibit and I’ll share more information later.
